When I'm testing my cutters and rollers I try to make sure they are not too difficult to use. I think that is why I gravitate towards making stamps with matching cutters rather than combined stamp/cutters. I find the combined ones are tricky to use, requiring a release like cornstarch or water. If they are separate you can use any thickness of clay, use just the stamp if you like and I think they are easier to cut out. Check out this dragonfly I'm working on. The tail is so thin on this but stamp first, then cut makes it easier to avoid clay sticking in the cutter.
I think a large size of this would look amazing on a clock face ⏲
