I don't know why I suddenly became interested in making clocks with polymer clay. Maybe because it gives a large canvas for adding polymer clay details. The large gecko cutter seemed perfect for this. After I made this one I realized that most clocks are quite large, and need room for a washer on the front to attach the mechanism.
I bought some cheap mechanisms from Amazon and all the hands were 3.5" or 4" so I had to cut some down to size for this clock. My large cutters generally go up to 6", which seemed enormous to me. But it seems like clocks generally are 10 or 11". I'm definitely going to add some larger sizes to the store, I just bought a larger 3D printer that can go up to 10".
I also love the idea of making something really functional with polymer clay, here it is working.
